A haunting label to start, this wine opens up to be rather luscious, thanks I think, to the dominance of Zinfandel. Very California, very pleasant and with enough complexity to make it a conversation piece. For pairing, think steak or just sip on its own on a cold night.

Not my absolute favorite, but it's up there. Dry, not sweet, very very solid red, especially for under $20.
