Shadow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

It's time for my #FridayCabernetfix.

This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from the great 2012 vintage.

Showing a strong and delicious nose.

Full bodied, smooth and elegant, with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate and very fruity with blackberries, coffee, chocolates, tobacco, licorice, vanilla, cedar, cola and black pepper.

Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up, and shows the complexity.

This 9 year old is very enjoyable now, and will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 years.

Nicely balanced with a great mouthfeel. Rich, yet elegant. Fruit forward with nice complexity.

Good by itself or with food. I paired it with a delicious Charcuterie board.

Evolving nicely. Still drinking very youthful but balancing out well

Fresh black fruit, however this bottle should have been open five years from now - over an hour decanting and still tight

Had the '07 and had a consistent conclusion

So wonderfully full but still finishing lean and mean. Focused, not flashy, harnessing the beauty of the varietal without over extracting the grape.

Had this a while ago and boy was it special...

Not a very well known winery. Typical Califonia Cabernet , since we are in Yazawa Beef in Beverly Hills . 2013 is fairly young, but go down good with meat!

This had a lot of potential but sadly not a very bouncy or resilient bottle
