Dec 24th, 2019Decanted 2 hours - first sip works - well works enough - this is mid tier Cabernet and I knew that when I purchased - ratings were good - all I can say is good things but not going to knock your socks off
Deep purplish color and not transparent so check that box
Taste works with balance and structure but not much else - bold yes - Singing to me bold no
Smell is full of bright aromas of roses, tobacco and spice lead to a full palate of blackberries, cherries and cocoa. The mid palate is full and leads to a bright long finish of cherries, caramel, spice, cassis and coffee. Now all that said I can cross the big box off and recommend for the this and price alone
The finish is where I see no flair / no beauty - it works and I drink with enjoyment but nobody here is going to tell you it is awesome - awesome is cabs from vineyards like GIII or LPS or Houyi or Dr Crane but I am enjoying it - and I am smiling - love my Friday night juice!!!

So it is Friday again, and I have to have my Cabernet fix for the weekend, don't I?
Deep inky in color with a short purple rim.
Fruity nose of blackberries, sweet cherries, black currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, earth, leather, green pepper, chocolates, tobacco, tar, bitter herbs, spices and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity, long legs, smooth and elegant.
Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, sweet cherries, oak vanilla, licorice, light vegetables, coffee, chocolates, tobacco leaf, beef jerky and peppercorn.
Long finish with soft tannins and nice acidity on the very ending.
A very nice, smooth and luxurious, Napa Cabernet. Still young and missing some structure. Nice and balanced, but still missing something that will hopefully come in a couple of years. I liked the length on the ending, though. Much more complex after 2 hours of airtime.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
