1 person found it helpfulJul 16th, 2016Dark yellow with stone fruit nose and floral spice. On the palate tart fruits, over spicy, notes of oak and lemon, almost unpleasant. Small disappearing bubbles ending with some yeasty notes. Very pricey for champagne past it's prime.

Jan 31st, 2017What a fantastic vintage.. 2002 is considered a great one and this was a marvelous rendition. Beautiful balance of acid and bubble, fragrant nose of peaches, ginger, almond, and flint, exhibiting notes of golden apples, amuse-bouche, and a lengthy, fig finish. For under $100, quite a hidden gem. This is how you start 2017, 15 year old champage.
Cheers, and bless all.

What a wonderfully aged Champagne this is! Extremely fragrant, billowing out of the bowl with notes of toasted walnuts, lees, apricots, dried figs, Georgia peaches, and creme. It looked beautiful in the glass as well. It was a beautiful deep golden yellow, with very fine bubbles. The pallet shows signs of oxidation like true matured Champagne, with youthful focus, exhibiting flavors of lemon tart, mousse, green apple, minerals, and a lovely bisquity finish. Bravo Georges Vesselle! Worth every penny. Drink now through 2020.

Super biscuity, slight oxidation. Medium bodied. Interesting, but can’t help but feel like I would have gotten more for my $99 with a nice grosses gewachs or even a burgundy

Jan 1st, 2024Gold. Fine, whispy bubbles and an extraordinary richness provide ample balance for the racy acidity. This has it all going on right now: nerve, complexity, depth and real enjoyment. Try to keep from gulping it down if you can.
