Georges Dubœuf
Juliénas Gamay
A light reddish /brick color.
On the nose, blueberries, cherries, oak, earth, forest floor, wet leaves, light barnyard, vegetables, green pepper, light spices and green olives.
Light-bodied with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with cherries, blueberries, strawberries, earth, leather, bitter herbs, green vegetables, bell pepper, dark chocolates, wet leaves, river rocks, black pepper and spices.
Nice length on the finish with no tannins whatsoever and tangy raspberries.
This is the oldest Beaujolais that I have ever tried, and I didn't think this would last so well. I mean... 40 years...
Nicely balanced with a very light mouthfeel. Soft, smooth and elegant with nice complexity. Still fresh-tasting with enough acidity.
Good pretty much right out of the bottle (15 minutes). Nice enough to drink by itself, and a great wine to pair with food too.
This 40 year old is a special wine to have with friends. Always a great experience to try these old wines.
I paired it with light appetizers.
12.7% alcohol by volume.
87 Points.
