The last time I opened a bottle of this, it was 10/14/16. I'm actually quite surprised that I was able to hold off a year and a half. But, just as I remembered it, just with a little more maturity to it. This wine is in a good spot right now. The wine pours a dark color with a dusty maroon meniscus. The nose was black cherry and graphite, yet still having a sweeter, youthful kind of characteristic to it. The entry is, for sangiovese, full-bodied. I haven't had every Sangio on the planet, but this is the fullest of those that I HAVE tried. There is so much complexity here...Black cherry, oregano, almost seemed "volcanic" in nature. The middle of this wine is deeper, more youthful, yet still structured and composed. The finish of this wine still has some tannin, some acidity, great fruit, some bramble, some spice. Nice. The mag of this is going to be great in 5-7 years.
