Typical Gantenbein nose, smokeyness, high acidity, immense perfume. Your nose expects a medium to full weight wine and what is light Pinot. Better than 2018, more like a 2017. Will drink beautifully for the next 10 years. One of my favorites.

I have been a huge fan of this domaine since they produced their first bottles in 1982. The wines are pure expressions of Pinot, delineated, mineral and salty. When young they can be very smokey/toasty but that bleeds out through aging. Unfortunately they are irresistible when young but the reward is even better with 7 to 10 years of bottle age. Tough to wait for that long.

Remains my favorite Swiss wine. Smokey, long burn, existential.

Just terrific. The wine is in between a great burgundy (volnay) and an Oregon Pinot Noir. New world power and forwardness and old world elegance and finesse. A joy to drink in any vintage but 2015 is just superb.

This is a terrific wine. Elegant, full of finesse, great minerality (almost volcanic) and salinity. Really top. Drinks beautifully now.
