A very nice surprise. Gorgeous. Balanced. Not marred by its oak.

Unlike me this is ageing at a glacial pace. This 1996 was vibrant, energetic, and powerful, wood still present but integrating, balsamic, dark red fruit, leather, spice. Brought by a good friend. Very special wine.

19+. Decanting helped. Smooth, perfect balance, very long.bigger than most of today’s Barolos.

Lots of wood. Plenty of fruit that struggled to push through the wood. Give it 5-10 more and try again.

18- deep, structured, lots of fruit with enough acidity that this will go at least 10 more years.

Elegant, tannin & oak present in the front, rounds out on the palate afterwards, bit of an abrupt finish, not sure it's a $250 wine by Australian standards. I can't imagine it lasting too much longer, I think 20 years will start to pull it up.
