Jan 14th, 2018Initially quite oaky but then it's a dark, delicious, well balanced and powerful wine with a beautiful nose of dark ripe berries and cherries and just a hint of pickled plums and tobacco leafs. Velvety textured, it is sweet, rich and persistent on the palate, with plummy aromas and a well balancing acidity. I opened the bottle two days ago and it is still going strong, with a slight oxidation that I love. Reminds me of a well matured Brunello di Montalcino but with more elegance. Happy to have kept this Agiorgitiko for so many years untouched. Unhappy to share it with myself only. ;-)
