Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Fruity nose with blueberries, black plums, cranberries, raspberries, bell pepper, vegetables, herbs, oak, light vanilla, licorice, red candy, earth, spices and light black pepper.

Medium-bodied with medium acidity and long legs. Elegant and smooth.

Dry on the palate with blueberries, cherries, raspberries, leather, light vegetables, mint chocolates, oak, earth, licorice, herbs and black pepper.

Medium finish with soft tannins and tangy cranberries.

This is a very enjoyable Pinot Noir from the Chalone Appellation in California. Well balanced and very smooth with nice complexity and elegance.

This 7 year old Single Vineyard Pinot Noir is good by itself or with food. Very enjoyable by itself as a sipping wine. Needs an hour to open up properly.

This is not my usual style, but I liked it a lot. A very good quality Pinot Noir.

I paired it with goat cheese, crackers and nuts.
