I am still learning the different profiles of wine varietals. Seldom have I had a bottle of purely Petit Verdot, so it is difficult to know what the desired qualities of this varietal should be. But my inexperienced eye sees darkness with burnt orange halo in the glass. My inexperienced nose smells dusty flowers and spice. My mouth feels a midweight mixture of blueberry earthiness touched by tannins heavy-handedly and a little acidity light-handedly. It is not bad. But, what do I know? Ha!
