Really interesting how this Barbera from the foothills holds up nicely after 8 years. I don’t know if the 16 vintage was so good, or the wine just aged exceptionally well, but this is much better than previous vintages. Very mellow tannins, smooth velvety. A pleasant surprise.

Still plenty of fruit at 9 years of age. Probably should have had this wine earlier. Still vibrant though.

Very very fruit forward, the words fruit bomb come to mind. But there is also an acidity that keeps this wine somewhat in check. Probably too young.

Very drinkable, a lot of fruit. Opens up nicely. I'd like to try this one a few years later when it mellows a bit more. Upgraded from 8.5 to 8.8 on 12/1/16. An additional year really helped this wine along.

Nice fruit. Balances nicely after getting some air.

We opened this in 2015, stored the entire time in our temp controlled wine cellar. Wine had turned, which is unacceptable. All of of Frogs Tooth wines have had a hard time holding up.
