I've been enjoying some phenomenal Sauv Blancs the last 2-3 weeks, so I'm trying to be fair here, but it's hard when you have had Melka's SB, Bevan's SB, and the Addax SB (my favorite) all in your recent memory bank!

I'm becoming more familiar with Frias Family and am making it a point to visit my next time out to Napa. Their Spring Mountain Cab is absolutely delicious, and this SB is refreshing. Very pale yellow in the glass. Smell maybe a touch of oak on this, so I'm guessing not much was used. I get pear, kiwi and white flowers on the nose. A fair bit of acidity on the palate. Finishes with granite, and some type of a tart note that l'm struggling to identify.

First wine at the Frias tasting room with Manny Frias. Clear and pale greenish yellow. Complex and layered nose. Starting off with vanilla yogurt, stone fruits like apricot and pears, saffron, and finishing with citrus and tropical fruits. Moderate acidity (7/10) and a light to medium bodied. Lots of tropical and citrus notes on the palate with a gravelly or stoney finish. Quite crisp and refreshing with a long finish. Drink till 2021.

All the fruit for this bottling is sourced from the Mello Vineyard in Yountville. This 100% Sauvignon Blanc is aged for 15 months in stainless steel and for an additional 3 months in neutral French oak.
