Freycinet Vineyard
Tasmania Pinot Noir
See previous Delectable notes. Savoury red fruited perfume with black cherry - an over used descriptor but Delicious is the word. I was going to pick a Burgundy to have with duck - most of which aren’t ready yet so I am glad I picked this 10 year old Tasmanian Pinot from one of the earliest Tassie Pinot producers in Freycinet Developing earthy loamy notes - still vibrant and alive.

Mar 20th, 2022Deep Ruby - dark for a Pinot Noir. Dense, very rich - dark cherry and spices. Medium plus bodied palate. Amazing to say it is latent for an 8 year old Pinot but I have had Freycinet Pinots that are 15 years old - they are made with longevity in mind. So rich it could have come from Central Otago. Leave the last one for at least another 3 years.

Jul 2nd, 2020Sweet cherry and smokey oak with dried leaf aromas. Savoury Plum on the medium plus weighted palate with MTannins and acid. A Pinot that is always made to age and should not be drunk under 5 years of age and goes to 10 to 15 most years. Always good. Tasted another on 22 March 2018 with consistent notes. Just marvelling at the mouthfilling nature of this wine with such supple tannins. A cooling palate with cherry notes.
