Mr. Spittoon and I spent about 6 weeks living & working in the Penedes region in Spain where Cava comes from and Freixenet was the first Cava house we visited. So naturally we reminisced while drinking this iconic black bottle of Spanish sparkling wine.
Pale yellow on the eye with crisp apples and citrus on the nose. For the price point (approx $10-14) it's great value - highly refreshing and keeps the palate entertained during aperitif hour.
