It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.

Dark ruby in color with a reddish rim.

Beautiful nose with great complexity.

Dry and fruity on the palate with medium acidity and long legs.

Showing black currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, chocolates, light vanilla, tobacco, dark coffee, Indian spices, herbs, cola, wild flowers, light earth and peppercorn.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Rich, yet elegant.

Good right out of the bottle, and better after an hour of airtime. Fruit forward and tasty.

This 8 year old is drinking very nicely now. Showing great complexity with a smooth mouthfeel. I just love these Napa Bordeaux blends.

I had it a year and a half ago, and it is drinking even better now. Will continue to age nicely in the next 8 years.

Good by itself or with food. A great sipping wine. Well balanced and nicely integrated. Really loved the nose here.

A blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Petit Verdot and 1% Merlot. Aged in New French oak barrels for 27 months.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

94 points.

$380.

Time for my #FridayCabernetfix. Here is a gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon.

Dark ruby/Inky in color with a reddish rim.

Fruity nose of blueberries, blackberries, black currants, Mediterranean spices, light cedar, chocolates, vanilla, earth, leather, tobacco leaf, wild flowers, black pepper and coffee.

Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with black currants, blackberries, light cedar, licorice, cola, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, light vanilla, spices, earth, peppercorn and leather.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley.

Rich, but not too much in your face. Nicely balanced with lots of elegance. Fruit forward with nice complexity and mouthfeel.

This is a great example of a young wine with a wonderful nose, without too many secondary notes. Very impressive.

Needed an hour to open up, but much better after 2 hours in the decanter.

I had the 2014 vintage not too long ago, and I liked this even better.

This 6 year old is already delicious, and will continue to age nicely in the next 15 years.

Good by itself as a sipping wine, and will pair nicely with a big piece of steak as well. I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.

A blend of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot and 1% Merlot. Aged for 28 months in French oak barrels.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

94 points.

$275 (current vintage).

Frank Fredericks Estate Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, California

It's time for my
#FridayCabernetfix. Here is a gorgeous one from Napa.

Dark ruby in color with a nice brick rim. Pretty color.

Strong nose of blueberries, black cherries, black plums, earth, oak, light vanilla, licorice, peppercorn, tobacco, chocolates, spices and graphite.

Medium plus in body and elegant, with medium plus acidity and nice legs.

Dry on the palate with black plums, currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, dark chocolates, coffee, peppercorn, earth, tobacco, light green vegetables and herbs.

Nice tangy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Showing nice complexity, especially on the nose, with a nice and easy mouthfeel.

Good right out of the bottle and better with airtime. I gave it 3 hours to open up. As it opens up, it becomes spicier with more earthy notes.

Still young, but already enjoyable even by itself. A new world wine with a touch of Bordeaux. Very interesting.

Would benefit from 5 to 10 years of bottle time, and will continue to age nicely in the next 20 years.

A good quality wine that shows good potential to become a 95+ point wine.

Paired very nicely with a Charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.

A blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon,
2% Petit Verdot and 1% Merlot. Aged in new French oak for 27 months.
