l'Appel des Sereines Syrah
The quintessential pizza/cookout wine. Lively, great acids to keep it fresh, and a surprising pink grapefruit element in the nose and mouth.

Dec 22nd, 2015Dark currants, raisins, wood, sage on nose with slight heat. Light bodied dark fruit and gold raisins, slight spice, slight leather. Very strong acid profile, light tannin, alcohol showing somewhat hot. For the price it is a good french buy, but felt that it could have had more to offer. Not much complexity.

Sep 30th, 2015Dark cassis berries, leather, grit, sage. Lots of sediment in the bottle. Firm tannins and dried cherry backbone complemented the seared ribeye and picked veggies I had for dinner.
