Lively and Lovely. Seems like a great time to open this 2017- it's soft and rounded but still has a nice tannic and acidic finish.
On opening there is a mesmerizing and distinct scent of cedar and what I can only describe as 'cold smoke' on the nose.
I wish that carried directly to the pallette but it's only there in the whisps of the aftertaste.
After an hour or so, pallette and nose exchange leads, the nose becomes a less intense fruit leather but the taste opens up- I think there is viogner hiding in here that comes out in the presence of oxygen. Maybe not sophisticated but certainly interesting.
This to me is a €45 bottle of wine so any more than that and my score starts to drop.
