Warm and inviting black/purple berry fruit, woodsmoke, resinous herbs, granite, iron, taffy and apricot pit, ink. The front in is classic CH with the rich and voluptuous fruit character, but the finish departs with a serious edge of minerality and coarse tannin, reminiscent of classic Cornas. The vintage evident in the dry extract and ripening profile.

This is so good for the price. Savory black olives for days, along with bright clean fruit and surprising flavor depth.

This smells and tastes like northern Rhône Syrah. Slightly opaque. Just ripened black and red fruit. More meat, smoke, and violet than olives. Good complexity. Moderate acid and chunky tannins. The lack of energy brings a dip to the finish but this is a very good crozes. Showing well now.

Had this next to Graillot’s version and this, while slightly more opulent, was the winner for me by a hair. Great length and a deft balance between ripe red fruit and savory olives and underbrush.

Medium purple; initially reductive aroma gives way to chocolate, savory herb, cardamom, lees and then blackcurrant; tastes unfiltered with medium acid, slight bitterness and mild soft and immediate tannin. No sulfur, 13.5%

Bold olive tapanade aroma. Went well with the middle eastern influences lamb dish
