Franciscan Estate
Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Dark Ruby with berry and spice aromas, not overly complex. Black cherry, cinnamon and cedar dance around in the glass. A lighter body Cabernet, dusty tannins ending with smoky notes. Just ok!

Sep 27th, 2020When I was 17 it was a very good year.....2013 was indeed a fantastic year for wine making in Napa and Franciscan Estate partook of the quality fruit. This wine was high mid body, supple, firm and approachable. Slight spiciness that acquiesced to a pleasant acidic structure with aeration. Tannicly teasing. Beautifully deep and rich color. A solid Napa selection at an appealing QPR. Don't miss this one.

It’s drinking nicely right now, but can be aged for another 5-8 years easily. Fantastic!
There are a handful Napa wineries which Napa Cab bottling can be still had for under $20, and Franciscan is one of them. If you can still find 13, 14, or 15 vintages at around $20, buy it.

Great value for the money. Had the 2014... very dry, full body, oaky, adds good structure to any meal. Would do it again.
