Black cherry, dark chocolate/cocoa... Almost Archway Dutch Cocoa cookie-ish. No oxidation at all (straight from the library winery assisted in that), and simply delicious. A great indicator as to the ageability of #flxwine

This was a good merlot from the finger lakes, good characteristics, balanced, probably better with meat.

Very plummy fruit with cherries and cut grass. There was a pleasant tingly acidity. Merlot often has an overly earthy minerality that I don't like, which is at least partly a matter of where it's grown. This wine doesn't have that earthiness, instead the minerality is dry stone. I thought the tannins were pretty light, and this is light bodied in general, just a little alcoholic in the finish. This drinks very easily. It's not as complex as many Merlots, but it's very pleasant.

Very light, effervescent Merlot with notes of plum and blueberry and a vanilla finish. Great with Italian.
