Potent and decadently rich with massive oak and bourbon character. This drinks more like a dram than a beer. Don't bring it to the beach, but ideal on this cold & foggy day.

Jan 10th, 2016I didn't think to post those until I was almost done. I have (or had, if I'm being honest) a five year vertical of this. At 10%+ ABV, there is no way am I making it through a vertical, even with a few friends. This bottle was a fun experience to say the least. A chocolatey brown color with half a finger of head with some sediment. The bourbon notes are still there, but muted. Plenty of vanilla and chocolate notes. Where is the alcohol? Super sneaky 10.5% abv. I'm glad I decided to open this, what a fun experience.

Apr 24th, 2020Poured into a wineglass, this baby gives a hue of Cooked caramel . Minimal froth. Very complex with an initial hint of maple syrup. The sides of the tongue are pleasantly bathed with a creamy texture joined by a kiss of
Pepper. A rise of temperature unlocks notes of charred wood, toasted almonds and vanilla with a pronounced finish of cacao beans and espresso. A great companion to have for the fall season. Definitely holds it’s own as a desert beer as well

Whole lot of flavor here. Smoke and dark caramel with a shot of scotch.... 11.2% to boot. Cure for an election hangover.

Nov 13th, 2015This is amazingly complex. Almost like a Manhattan cocktail. Bourbon and vanilla for days, but the smoke is so nice. Excellent. May be better than kbs for me???
