Viña Foronda Reserva 2009: Medium-bodied. Well balanced. Smooth tannins. Slight dryness. Notes of red berry, black currant, tobacco, vanilla, oak & spice. Silky satisfying finish. For me, this was a very pleasant Rioja wine. Lots of upfront fruit & spice and a great price point. A true value for an older “reserve” wine. Would be a great pairing companion to all sorts of food.
