Finger Lakes Riesling

Too soapy for my tastes. 🧼

Dusty pear, sour lemon, wet stone, slight spice and rubber. More lemon zest on the finish.

The first impression is one of petrol and rubber ball on the nose, accented by d’Anjou pear, lemon drop and early spring blossoms. It’s as lean and wiry as I’ve come to expect from Riesling grown in the Finger Lakes Region—perhaps even a shade more so—clearly Forge is pushing the envelop in terms of acidity and sheer white grapefruit pithiness. Moreover, the winery ages their Rieslings in neutral oak, an unorthodox practice that yields some interesting results texturally, and also on the back palate. Assertive deisel aroma followed by apricot. Notable acidity. Exactly what it should be. #nywine doing a good job.

Overall simple and approachable, citrusy and mildly complex. Certain notes of petrol. Varietal and fruity aromas, palate slightly steely. #fingerlakeswinecountry #riesling

Vibrant; green apple, honey toast. Fun.

Nice elevated acidity balanced by a steely minerality. Key limes, ripe green apple, hint of white peach, blossoms. Really faint petrol hint. A really charming riesling

First ever wine from Finger Lakes AVA. Fairly lovely high acid and lime, some stone fruit. Refreshing.

Complex aroma with nice texture and high acid. Delight w dishes @chefjeffosaka last night. Congrats to chef on the new spot and to Louis and the forge team!

Dry, minerally and taut. First Finger Lakes Riesling for me!
