Bright and deep gold. Abundant and inviting nose of honeyed yellow apple and honeysuckle. Crisp medium palate yields those same elements with a hint of herb and peach pit. Firm, medium plus acidity and a juicy lingering finish. Among the best the Finger Lakes has to offer! Bone dry yet still aromatic and flavorful. Perfect match for seafood (crab cakes here) or poultry. Drink now through 2028.

Star bright deep gold. Yellow apples, white flowers, light balsam on the abundant nose. Medium palate confirms the nose. Medium plus acidity. My new go-to dry Riesling! And Wine Spectator thinks so, too. Drink now or hold through 2030.

Star bright deep(!) gold. Shy but inviting nose minerally green apple. On the palate, green apple, lime rind, flinty minerals, dried white flowers. Laser focused, firm acidity that belies the barrel roots (presaged by the color). Was initially put off by the color, but some research revealed that it’s 70% barbell fermented, which accounts for things. A dry Riesling for autumnal fare. Casseroles, roasted poultry or pork, or root vegetables will find a friend here. Drink now through 2028.

Clear deep gold. Abundant, genie-like nose of baked apple and birch. Medium palate confirms the nose -- the apple is green -- with a hint of ripe pear and mineral notes with solid, medium-plus acidity tempered by the barrel treatment. The Classique draws from the top vineyards around lower Seneca Lake, and the result is among the best the Finger Lakes has to offer. Excellent all-around white for rich seafood, pork, or poultry dishes, and especially the Thanksgiving table. Drink now 2021 through 2026.

Just good all around. Nothing too strong about this wine.

Very interesting and very different from the three previous single vineyard Forge Rieslings we tried. Floral, with a more distinct but still mellow hint of Riesling plastic poncho. A lot of white pepper and cumin, followed by a grassy finish.

Prominent non-fruit aromas with honey and blossoms (jasmine and slate per MM), dry with a rounder body and medium acidity (lower for a Riesling). Blind Reisling tasting w Doo.
