Perfectly aging this Barbera d’Alba. Paired it with pasta with confited duck. Good combination as the acids in the wine stood up against the fat in the dish.

Dark red purple. Overwhelming nose with blackfruit but also some forrest and wood. Ridiculous PQR as we only payd 15 euro’s for it. No need to keep it any longer. Just enjoy!

Perhaps in a strange phase this wine. As much as we enjoyed it two years ago currently it is a bit harsh. The sweet ripe red fruit is hiding or gone...
The nose is nice though. Some cinnamon, sandelwood and other spices.
In the mouth however the acids dominate. Lets see how it goes with the food and tomorrow. For now 85.

2011 vintage on 12.4.17
Not decanted and that is a mistake. The nose closed yet (1hr). Well balanced in the mouth though. Will write again late tonight. So even at day 3 a good wine! Berries and cocoa. Warm mouth. Just watch for the depot. Will try again next year.
