Juicy plum, blueberry pie, black cherry, blackberry, cassis, and violet. Notes of carbonic maceration or at least some whole cluster. Neutral oak. Elevated acidity, medium soft tannins, and moderate body. Medium(+) finish. Simple but delicious.

Folk Machine 2014 Charbono. My first exposure to this grape. Shares many flavor notes with a warmer region Pinot Noirs. Dense medium body with rich color that presents tastes of plum, cherry, and a touch of spice. Unexpected discovery that provides a pleasant alternative to more conventional full bodied Pinots and Malbecs.
