Seriously well made California Chardonnay. Yes, it’s big, it’s oaky, it’s lush. But god damn it, it’s good! This is the Chardonnay somms guzzle in the back while recommending some funky natural wine at the table. Vanilla, butterscotch, lemon curd. But it still has good acidity to balance out the richness, akin to something from the Côte d’Or. I’m willing to bet it ages really, really well.
