Sep 4th, 2016Very much a New World Sangiovese, this bottle from Walla Walla Valley is still quite tasty. It has a big nose of cherries, smoke, and spice. Upon opening, the taste is very sharp but softens after decanting. The palate consists of oak and butterscotch, but the deep dark fruits steal the show. After the wine has had time to open up, the flavored of ripe cherries and leather display the best characteristics of the juice. The finish shows well integrated tannins and those typical Tuscan spicy notes.
