Look at that color. Color of mushroom stock. And some of the smell and flavor. Also, barley tea and walnuts. Super oxidized. But surprisingly fresh on the palate, with bright acid. Sherried, long finish. Like three minutes of sherry-like finish. This is an oddball but delicious. One of three bottles I have in the cellar and one of the others is clearly not oxidized (actually looks like white wine) so I didn’t have high expectation for this bottle but it turned out to be tasty and enjoyable if you like this sort of thing. Don’t wait any longer though!

Mythical, mysterious, magic. This started with nuts and mushrooms, only pithy lemon for fruit. After it opened up for 30 minutes it really came to life! Pitted fruits, bright and very much alive. It was a pleasure at the table, really extenuating all the flavors from the kitchen. #onlygreatbottles

The prince and his magic caves FTW, as usual. 1993 botte 25 Malvasia. Marzipan, marjoram, wet chalkboard, bee pollen, and old parchment. A stunner.

1994. Such special wines. For when they're gone they're gone.

2012 vintage. Big wine, well structured for aging. Very aromatic, with spices, ginger, tangerine, only a bit simple, and could use more acidity ...
