Legendary and ultra rare Cab/Merot blend from the now defunct vineyard of Prince Alberico Ludovisi, near Rome. Very few cases made it stateside before the final vintage in 1995. Bone dry; 12% ABV, perhaps the most brilliant robe of any Italian red I've ever tasted. Perfect balance, fresh, subtle, unmistakeably Italian. A tiny bit shy of fruit but not a flaw. A real treat and I think my most interesting wine in the last 5-7 years! Maybe it cost me $65 or so....
