Maybe over the hill at 5.5 years? That would be the more charitable explanation for it being barely palatable. The fruit was gone. The finish was gritty and bitter. What we experienced in the glass bore no resemblance to the Suckling notes.

Wonderful 11 year old Argentinean Malbec. The palate is intense, with a long finish and lingering notes of fruit. Sweet tannins. Good balance of tannic structure and acidity. Paired perfectly with pork Carnitas.
