Rioja blend very tight or concentrated in its early character; Taste Dark Plum fruit -smoke- steel - huge tannic.
Nose new leather, Five Star spice and smoke.
After opening up (1 hour): Nose, Strawberry Jam. Taste, Rose - Red Currant - Large Oak - Saddle -Clay. Tannic reduced with food (Paella) and then returned but less severe after dinner.

Would revisit with fatter meats.
