24/15/12/10/9/7/7/6/6/4 blend of Zinfandel, Syrah, Alicante Bouschet, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, Carignan, Touriga Nacional, Charbono, Corvina and Barbera. Inky purple red, lots of pigment extraction. Plum, prune, black cherry, black currant, blackberry flavors with lots of seed character and a eucalyptus finish. Despite that, medium seed tannins, not astringent really, just cool black fruit heaven in your mouth.

Dried black fruits and mesquite on the nose. Very powerful and deep palate. Alcohol is a little high but the wine doesn’t finish hot. Really good!

This is a well made wine. Great balance of fruit, acid, alcohol, and oak without being too pushy in any direction. Not my go-to style, but a tasty, balanced blend.

4 loko for wine drinkers. Not necessarily a bad thing. Do not not pop the top waring clothes

Beautiful light red wine. Drinkable and rich, while not overwhelming a dish.

Clove, new car leather nose. Preserves on the palate. An interesting offering.

Deep. Juicy and jammy. Zinfandel dominant field blend. Somewhat reined in at 13.8% abv. Just not my style.

The 2020 Red Fiction, a California kitchen sink blend, offers up plenty of expressive dark fruit qualities along with suave floral topnotes. Juicy and energetic, it shows very good depth. Gentle, rounded tannins frame a long and focused finish that leaves sweet cherry and cassis notes behind. $20.00 (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, April 2022)

A young woman at my wine shop recommended this when I told her I needed a change. Four months later, it’s in regular rotation. It’s fruity enough for my wife and bold enough for me.
