Wow. Who knew we would find one of the best bottles on our trip so far at a "hypermarket" selling for €30. Primitivo, I understand to be similar to zin, is one of the two great reds produced in Puglia. Very elegant, easy on the palate and yet held up with red orechiette.

First time I ever had this wine and the tertiary notes are kicking in. Some broth and mushroom nose. The mouth is full with sultanas and thats about it.
Depending on what you seek in a wine but for me it is past its prime at 13 years.
