Very deep red color, mineral, clean, very long on smell. Meaty, silky, full bodied, rounded, very well balanced, coffee, cocoa. Perfect to pair with typical roasted baby pig. Just for a very special event. Bought at the winery in our last trip where they explained to us its very special production process.

Feb 12th, 2017One of the most sumptuous Rioja I’ve tasted. Rich yet so fine. A deep nose of ripe plum, red cherry, cedar, mocha, and tobacco and light earthy elements. Dense with great depth of flavors. Silky smooth. Modern with old world charm.
From vines 60 years old on average, 20 months in new French barrels. A relatively new winery.

Nov 17th, 2022Would argue the epitome of old world Rioja, at least from what I know, grape and fig, heavy tannin, very rich and full, I like some of their others better, have west coast Pinot delicacy, this one is inky purple, smell is perfume, sorrel and parria bbq, blueberries in the taste, very grippy but still drinking decent with smooth layering

Oct 9th, 2017Beautiful floral nose easily noticible while decanting. Bouquet less fragrant an hour in, matching the briary palate that does not seem to show many secondary flavors. The tannins are still very much present and therefore would make this wine an ideal candidate for cellaring 2-3 more years. (Tasted 9/17)
