Intellectual, funky, and a tad unruly. The fruit for this Willamette Valley Pinot was sourced from the highly-praised Momtazi and Sojourner vineyards, and was subsequently fermented 80% whole cluster, and aged in neutral oak. Vegetable Lamb is earthy, really earthy with a suggestion of barnyard. Under that lies bramble fruit, stemmy forest berries, toss in a handful of decaying leaves. There is bright acidity here too, 2011 was a cooler vintage, the finish has a touch of green on it as well.

Dark red color. Smells a bit peppery/tobacco/leather. Delightful fruit, but not overly sweet. Medium thick body

Very tasty. Easy to drink, but still quite complex, with a pleasant funk and with great mineral notes. Another yummy effort from Fausse Piste.

Surprisingly transparent, purple bordering on brown Pinot. Medium light body. Dates, ash, earth and some pepper on the nose. On the palate more of the fruit at first then powerfully dry-sour on the finish. Pretty nice.
