Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of two hours. The 2019 pours, a pale garnet color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with gorgeous notes of raspberry, tart cherry, strawberry, star anise, red flowers, pine nuts, dry earth, old wood, and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. This is a lovely Chianti Classico that may not be fancy, but it is certainly honest. Enjoy now through 2034.

2013v. Riserva. Light Ruby w a slightly orange rim. Very fragrant nose of red cherries, roses, brown sugar and sweet tobacco leaf. On the palette, it's sour cherries with some integrated oak and cedar. Higher acid Tannins are pretty mild. Body has a slight, woody chew to it. Overall, a Chianti with smooth finesse. 13.5% ABV.

Very nice Sangiovese. Needs to breathe a little, but showing great signs of a Classico, with a bit of sweeter fruit on the back end. Bring on the pasta!!
