A strapping wine with big frame, but I really didn’t enjoy the heavy handed oak treatment which left no joy to be found. Heavy and disappointing. That was the first sip soon after opening… 7.5 pts… A day or two later this was more like it with actually a decent large frame and plenty of secondary flavours including some iris, meat, leather and black cherry… 9.0+

Flowery with bright red fruit. Tannins soft and mellow, age served this wine well, very little bite but lingering finish. Reminder how much age Brunellos seem to need.

Last of 3 375ml bottles. The color was advanced and, after 60 minutes, the wine turned sherried and unenjoyable. Quite a surprise, given that the others (same purchase) showed better 8 & 12 months ago.
