Dec 5th, 2018Leather, violet, complex spice nose. Velvety and waxy on the palate. The ageing has softened the tannins and acidity but they are still present. Long savoury finish.

Jan 24th, 2018A chocolatey colored red.
Smells of a kinda jammy blackberry. Forcing a roasted tomato thanks to wine folly, can force through the potpourri as well.
May have actually overdecanted this one. Tannins are still powerful, with a real chalky aftertaste, but much of the up-front fruit that used to be there is gone. A very acidic, strong wine. This one needs a strong food pairing to be at its best.
Sorry sangiovese, still just not my grape.
