I’m absolutely loving the 2016 vintage in Willamette, which appears to be the inaugural vintage for Failla in an appellation blend. I don’t know anything about the assemblage but this is high-quality fruit. Beautifully crafted Pinot Noir showing generous fruit and structure but managing to stay light on its feet. Violets, black cherries, smoke, sandalwood, gravel. Classic savory character. These wines continue to impress me with their intensity and finesse.
