Kalema Salento Primitivo

Deep, smoky nose with lots of black pepper and a hint of game and stewed black fruit. Full, dry and a touch spicy on the palate. Big, bright acidity leads to deep flavors of earth, plum and blackberry. The finish is long a full if dusty, drying tannins.

Very good Italian table wine

A decent red that paired well with Bolognese. Finish wasn't sweet (as expected), enjoyed the Pinot Noir from Scicilia better (not pictured).

Color: Reddish-blue

Nose: Heavy on the nose

Palate: Heavy on the palate

Aroma: Blueberries and blackberries

Tannin: high amount of tannin make mouth dry and puckers

Dryness: very high. There is no sweetness present

Acidity: very acidic. Leaves a burning sensation on the back of the throat.

Body: Full bodied.

It's nice but it's not for me.

Dark blackberry color, a bit of bArnyard on the nose, dense fruit on the palate. Might benefit from 12 months in the cellar.

Medium body. Great dinner wine.
