Deep plum fruit on the palate with immediately noticeable acidity, developing spice notes in the mid-palate and into the finish. Tannins are very smooth and modest. Finish is medium.

Red berry, humid summer forest, hints of old leather jacket and hard candies on the nose. Plum, raspberry, tart cherry, notes of vanilla, soft puckering tannins lingering with juicy cranberry on the finish. Nice red for Virginia. Went well with pizza.

Another fantastic vintage of this lesser-known varietal. Great balance and mouth-feel, probably not commercially available at this point. Nice to have a few more bottles downstairs.
