When I see ‘butter’ on a Chardonnay label, I know it’s going to be that creamy, delicious style of Chardy I love.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I also think Butterball would be a great name for a cat #crazycatlady

This Evans & Tate 2017 Chardonnay from Margaret River (WA) I picked up for about $15. I believe the 16’ vintage was in James Halliday’s Top 100 under $20.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
On the eye it doesn’t come across like a super oaky wine with a lemon & lime colour. The nose is full of peaches and oranges with a lick of sweet vanilla. While in the mouth it’s creamy and smooth with a nice refreshing citrus-y finish. It’s a nicely balanced, not in your face oaked Chard.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!

Straw yellow to clear robe. Light nose of melons green apples and grapes. Buttery melon taste with a light fizz and prominent tannins. Delightful medium finish carrying the taste of melons to the end. Lovely!

Rich and ripe nectarine and apricot jump out of the glass immediately followed by a sweet biscuit note and scents of the bakery. Beautiful creamy leesiness about this chard, one of the picks from blind tasting. Nice line and length to this too well worth noting.
