Yesterday’s Wednesday Wine Committee, hosted by @Jeff Meyer , was so educational with fantastic German & Austrian wines. 1 sparkler, 5 whites, 5 reds, 1 dessert wine. All served blind as usual.

Aromatics jumped out of the glass here. Not full on sweet, but definitely more so than white number 2. More sweet stone fruits, citrus, candied kiwi and possibly some RS in the finish. I called this kabinett styled German Riesling.

Snap. Crackle. Pop. So expressive, such delicious fruit, saline, and great acid.

Beautiful Riesling aromatics, little loose on the palate.

Pale lemon, quite floral first impression on the nose, followed by yellow apple, ripe white peach and hints of petrol and flintstone. From over 70 year old vines grown on low fertile slate soils on limestone. Medium bodied, dry, very concentrated with piercing acidity. Drink now until 2038

Stunning minerality with just-ripe stone fruit notes and a long finish. So refreshing and beautiful.
