Back in the 90s, when the über ripe trend became all the rage in California, this would have been right at home. But today this is incongruous. A pruny, raisiny, overly extracted and sweet Syrah I would expect to see in the $9.99 and under shelves at Safeway, not in this label’s lineup. What might have worked well for NVCS is not as rightful for Foothills SY.
