Ernie Els
Cabernet Sauvignon
Really wanted to like this, but it just seems to reinforce my belief that ZA only exports all the mediocre wines. First whiff made me think it was oxidized. But even thought it didn't have blatant defects, it wasn't even inspiring. Sorry, Ernie, you should stick to golf.

Dec 8th, 2015Apparently S Africa does not believe in aging Cab! And, it tastes like it!

Dec 20th, 2012The fascinating Cab that jumps out of the bottle with dark red, dry Cabernet with very noticeable whiff of tropical fruit. The finish is tannic and a bit short. Satisfying after all.

Feb 11th, 2017Not bad. For a sub $30 wine it's pretty good.
My first Cab from South Africa.
Ernie also has a red blend for a lesser cost that is just as enjoyable.
A good one to try, but I probably wouldn't stock it.
My guess is that it's meant to drink young.

As great as I remebered it, smooth as Ernies swing!
