Really nice Cabernet from the Behrens family. It needs at least an hour in the decanter and it is still smoothing out after three but this is smooth and complex without being overly fruity or sweet. Deep purple in the glass with a dark berry and mashed fresh cherry nose. Palate is clean with the perfect blend of fruit, spice and oak. A little dry on the finish but in a good way. There’s more years in this but it’s worth a taste now.

2009. This wine definitely benefited from some time in the decanter! Oaky aromas turned into dark berry fruits and smooth tannins. Went great with a cast iron pan seared t-bone with shitakes.

Really satisfying upon opening. It's in a really great place right now. I don't see any fading of color and the wine has a richness and fullness to it, but is well balanced with round tannin, a bit of oak, and acidity. Has tobacco, plum, juniper, dark cherry, and pepper.

Apr 23rd, 201711 years and has good life. But definitely mature. Not all fruit--has some meat and vegetal notes. Also, quite perfumed.
