Juicy, brambly, dripping with bright florals and herbs, stoney too. Always delicious

Opened about 30min before dinner. On the nose, a delightful bouquet of blue and black bramble fruits with lavender and garrigue. On the palate it was slightly less exciting with tart brambles and minerals. An honest wine with good structure and a rigid spine of acidity that cuts through the heartiness of this delicious cassoulet that we prepared today. Big thanks to Amanda at Au Courant for the assist!

There’s a lot to like in this wine - but also several things not to like, so it got a bit dinged on score. To like - excellent aromatics - dense jammy berries. Not to like: quite a bit of harsher, bitter tannins on the finish. Seems like they left a bit of RS in there to try and counteract that, but you can still taste the bitterness and it just comes off a tad sweet. But - beyond all that, nicely textured, with some bramble and earthy notes for depth.

Fun little wine - gamey earthy nose with blueberry, high toned red fruit and distinctly “grapey” notes. The palate has high acid, salinity, and more purple fruit. This wine screams for food. Great for the price however. 50 Syrah, 40 Grenache, 10 Mourvèdre
