IX Réserve Improbable Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend

A bit oak dominated - clunky, chunky. More course than I prefer.

[En Magnum — purchased in France] — youthful redfruits, garrigue, lavender, lovely balance, soft tannins, this should easily go another 10+ years, long finish, kudos for Eric such an outstanding CdP!!

Definitely at the end of life but there is still something to be said for this wine. Is it a Parker 94?...no. But it has a nice profile on the palate. Cherries and ripe fruit. It’s the nose that brings this wine down a notch and a little unbalanced on the back end with high acidity. Overall, it’s nice not great.

Good. But too new world for me.
